Your video stays on your device.

FindVideoMoment is an independent experimental browser tool. Optional usage statistics require your explicit consent; sharing is off by default.

Local video and search

The app reads only the video you explicitly select. Video bytes, frames, thumbnails, search descriptions, filenames, file paths and embeddings are not sent to the application backend. Search text stays in runtime memory. There is no cloud inference fallback, transcription or OCR. Optional Microsoft Clarity and Google Analytics are described below.

What your browser saves

Completed indexes contain a content-derived matching key, duration, timestamps, model configuration, small thumbnails and vectors in IndexedDB. They contain neither the original video nor your search descriptions or filename. Indexes remain until you delete them or the browser clears them. Use the tool’s delete and clear controls. Model assets may also remain in browser CacheStorage; use browser site-data settings to remove those.

Closing the tab releases the selected file and active decoder. Saved local indexes remain until cleared. Returning requires reselecting the video; the site does not scan folders or bypass file permissions.

Network requests

The browser requests website assets and pinned model files from Hugging Face and its model delivery CDN. Those providers may receive ordinary network information, such as your IP address, to deliver assets. This is not a claim of fully offline operation. Vercel hosts the website and Neon Postgres stores the optional statistics and feedback you agree to send.

Optional statistics and feedback

Statistics sharing is off by default. When you explicitly enable it, the app sends allowed event types, rounded timings, duration buckets, model configuration and clicked result ranks. A random in-memory tab-session ID permits deduplication; it is not retained across visits. Turning sharing off stops future events, but does not delete previously received events.

Voluntary Yes / No / Not sure feedback requires its own explicit submission consent. It sends an answer, a random event ID and any comment you choose to write; it does not enable diagnostics. Comments are limited to 300 characters, kept private, and never published. Do not include private information, queries or filenames. Basic email/link removal is not a guarantee of complete personal-data detection. If diagnostics are separately enabled, the selected answer and optional broad video category also contribute to session-level summaries. Shared events can still be identifying in combination; “anonymous-style” does not mean impossible to identify.

Optional Microsoft Clarity

The separate footer control enables Microsoft Clarity heatmaps and session replay for the current page only. It is off on each new page. No Clarity script loads before you enable it. When enabled, Microsoft receives page and interaction data and may set analytics cookies; advertising storage consent remains denied. The entire video workspace, including previews, thumbnails, search input and feedback, is marked for masking.

Unchecking the control withdraws consent and stops recording. Data already sent is not deleted by this action. Clarity data is processed separately from our Neon statistics and is not covered by our 28-day cleanup. See Microsoft’s privacy statement for Microsoft’s handling of data.

Optional Google Analytics

A separate footer control enables Google Analytics traffic measurement for this page. It is off on each new page, and the Google tag does not load before you consent. Analytics cookies may then be used to measure visits, broad traffic sources and engagement. Enhanced measurement, Google signals and advertising personalization are disabled. We send only public page paths and referring origins, without URL query strings or fragments. We do not send video content, search text, filenames or feedback to Google.

Turning this control off disables further Google Analytics collection on the page. It does not delete already received data or existing cookies; browser site-data settings can remove cookies. Google processes this data separately from our Neon statistics, outside our 28-day cleanup. See Google’s privacy policy.

Retention and safe publication

Daily cleanup is configured to remove raw events, answers and comments older than 28 days to allow a scheduling margin within a 30-day maximum. Collection requires a separate retention-verification flag. Global minute counters contain no IP or device identifiers; daily cleanup removes counters older than 24 hours. Public reports suppress groups with fewer than 30 qualifying sessions; no individual records or raw answers are exposed.

Operational logs and contact

The application does not log event bodies, search content or file details. Vercel and other infrastructure providers may maintain access and security logs, including IP addresses and request metadata, under their own service policies. These are separate from optional usage statistics. Clarity and Google Analytics may use analytics cookies after you enable their respective controls.
